Small Business PR Course

The Small Business PR Course is a dynamic, compact course that educates small business owners about how to use multiple public relations tools in order to help them better promote their businesses.  The course covers seven core PR areas and teaches people key promotional skills, including how to create company documents, draft press releases, conduct media outreach, prepare for special events and utilize social media tools.  The course also includes a reference section with samples of various types of written materials and templates for how to create them, enabling course participants to have an ongoing guide when conducting their PR.

Creating Corporate Documents

This section features how to create critical corporate documents such as company fact sheets, company boilerplates, key messages, executive bios and more.

 

Drafting Press Materials

This section features a detailed overview of how to draft dynamic press releases, media alerts and other media materials.

 

Researching The Media

This section features tactics about how to research the media prior to conducting media outreach, in order to build a detailed list of appropriate media targets.

 

Conducting Media Outreach

This section features an extensive review of how to conduct media outreach.  It details how to pitch the media, what to do when conducting media outreach, what not to do and provides tips for long-term success.

 

Prepping For Media Interviews

This section features tips, tactics and tools for properly preparing for media interviews in order to successfully navigate speaking with the media.

 

Incorporating Social Media Tools

This section features an explanation of the various social media tools available, and how to maximize their effectiveness when integrating them into your PR/marketing activities.

 

Preparing For Special Events

This section features tips for how to prepare for special events in order to have the most successful show possible, including important media outreach activities prior to and during the show.

 

Resource Section

In addition to all the information in the course, participants also get access to the course's resource section.  This features sample press releases, media alerts, pitch letters, company fact sheets and other documents, as well as templates for creating both press and company materials.
